provide funding to the schools’ performing arts programs.
After a busy fall and winter, and turning the Music Stage management back over to the Charbonneau Country Club staff, we will take a break to enjoy winter travel and catch up on other obligations. Our work will soon begin for the 42nd annual Festival of the Arts with the Call to Artists on April 1, when we start accepting artist applications. All the details will be available on the CAA website as we get closer to that date. Mark your calendars for Oct. 9-11 for the festival.
As mentioned last month, we welcome new Festival Organizing Committee members with skills and a willingness to help manage our world-class event. Artistic skills are not required, but abilities in marketing, organization and computers are welcome. Please let me know if you are interested at cathi @ mclainco. com.
Meanwhile, best wishes for a Happy Valentine’ s Day.

Room. This collection of stories and songs chronicles her father’ s extraordinary experiences during World War II while stationed in North Africa, Italy and Japan. Embodying humor and poignancy, these stories and songs recall the heroism and hardships of the war. This same program was put on at the Lakewood Center for the Arts this past November for Veterans Day. The men of our community are invited to attend too because we think this might be of broad interest. The program will be one-hour long, so it will probably extend about 15 minutes beyond our usual 1 p. m. ending time. I wouldn’ t want to miss a minute of it, but, if you must leave early, of course you can duck out. We will have lasagna and a salad bar buffet for lunch catered by Mitche of G Gourmet. Wine is included and

sparkling cider will be available. The cost is $ 32 for CWA members and $ 37 for non-members. If you would like to attend, sign up in the CWA book on the counter in the Activity Center closet. Payment must be made at the same time. Place your check, payable to CWA or cash( clearly marked), in the CWA cashbox on the wall to your right just inside the closet door. The deadline to sign up is noon Tuesday, Feb. 2. The luncheon starts at 11:30 a. m. Attendees usually arrive starting at 11 a. m. to find a seat and enjoy a glass of wine and socialize. We hope you will put this on your calendar.
Looking ahead we have luncheons planned for March 9 with the Gorden House presenting, April 13 with Lakewood Theatre Company doing a program and a fashion show on May 11.
