Montoursville Music Department Happenings We had a very busy first week back from Winter Break here at MAHS . In January , Montoursville
hosted 75 students for the PMEA District 8 District Orchestra Festival , including two of our own , Kendall Simms and Carson Paulhamus . These young musicians spent hours working with the amazing Dr . Jason Worzbyt from Indiana University of Pennsylvania to put on an incredible concert , which was also the first time we have ever had an orchestra on our stage at MAHS ! We are so proud of all of these students for their hard work and dedication !
We also want to extend a special congratulations to Carson Paulhamus , who placed 1st in the flute audition and will be participating in Central Region Orchestra next month ! Thank you to all who helped make this festival such a great experience for our students !
PMEA District 8 Band Festival
Congratulations to our six HS Band Warriors who participated in the PMEA District 8 Band Festival at Berwick High School ! These students prepared numerous additional pieces of challenging music and worked under the baton of Dr . Reynolds from the University of Delaware to prepare an outstanding concert .
We are also excited to share that Carson Paulhamus and Evelyn Weng advanced from Districts and will participate in our PMEA Region IV Band at Williamsport in March ! Carson also earned first chair on Flute I AND the Solo Piccolo chair here at District Band . Congratulations again to all of our hard working musical Warriors on representing Montoursville with pride !
