Donation match challenge is successful

I am delighted to report that our 2021 Donation Match Challenge was a success , exceeding our goals by $ 206 for a total of $ 4,206 . The program was spear-

headed by CAA past president Eric Hoem , who led the match campaign and was a major donor himself .
“ Thanks to the generosity of Charbonneau residents , we are on the way to presenting grants to the art programs at Canby and Wilsonville High Schools at amounts comparable to previous years , despite having to postpone the 2021 Festival of the Arts until June ,” Eric said .
If our 2022 festival is as successful as we hope , we expect to be able to donate even more down the road ! Donors are recognized on the CAA website at https :// charbonneauarts . org / caa-benefactors /.
June 3-5 Festival of the Arts
Planning is underway for the 2022 Festival of the Arts , with exciting plans to turn it into a citywide event in conjunction with Wilsonville Arts and Culture Council ( WACC ). “ Arts Across the River ” will feature a student art pavilion at a location in Wilsonville proper , featuring artwork by students from kindergarten through high school . It will also include a juried show , “ Saved from the Landfill ,” and an open show , themed “ This Moment on Earth .” Charbonneau ’ s Festival of the Arts will incorporate the rest of the activities to our side of the river , with more student artwork from Canby and Wilsonville High Schools , music , a fineart gallery , artisan booths , a silent auction and more . We expect to gain additional exposure as an official Rose Festival event , and , with the excitement of utilizing the new activities building , it promises to be the biggest and best festival yet .

AURORA AIRPORT NOISE

Residents of Aurora , Charbonneau , and Wilsonville are being plagued by more overflights from Aurora Airport .
• More jets
• Runway extensions to fly bigger jets
• Flights ever later into the night
• Real estate values at risk
If you ’ ve had enough , join us for a meeting to decide what to do .
When : February 16th , 2022 at 6 PM
Where : French Prairie HOA Clubhouse , 8555 Curry Rd , Wilsonville , OR 97070 ( Charbonneau )
An RSVP is required to info @ AuroraAirport . org so we know how many to expect in person and via Zoom .
Come if you want to be part of this effort . If you only wish to be informed , check this website for news instead of attending : www . AuroraAirport . org

Talk is nice , but action makes our community better .

With the virus raging , check www . AuroraAirport . org for postponements , change of venue , etc .
Volunteer needed
We are currently seeking a volunteer with bookkeeping and accounting expertise to work with our board treasurer to manage the various online payment services we use to process artist registrations , donations , silent auction , and art purchases ( PayPal , Greater Giving , Zapplications ). If you are interested , please contact me at cathi @ mclainco . com . All volunteers are welcome !
We are pleased to welcome Rose Mason as a new member of our Board of Directors . Other board members include Cathi McLain , Elaine Swyt , Lindy Anderson , Rick Cady , John McLain , Lynda Huber Marshall , Benjamin Mefford and Eric Hoem .
Grant awards
I reported earlier that we had received a $ 3,000 grant from the city of Wilsonville to help offset the costs of registration and silent auction systems , and to help to pay for festival advertising . We have also been awarded $ 2,175 from Clackamas County Cultural Coalition to allow us to purchase additional art display panels for our expanded space in the new building . Thanks to these awards , we can operate a world-class event without having to compromise our ability to donate to the high school art programs .

Once again , we recognize the importance of sponsors to the success of our fundraising efforts .
