Group cannot meet for now

Suddenly , for the first time in a long while , it feels like spring . The sun is out and we are heading for temperatures in the 50s , and I even hear a landscaper blowing away the last of the leaves from my neighborhood . But the reality today is far from sunny because , once again , our clubhouse has virtually shut down and our Solo Sisters singles group will no longer be meeting . We had grown used to seeing each other on a monthly basis , sharing meals , playing games and enjoying one another ’ s company . Our new members were beginning to make friends and understand the value of living in Charbonneau . Now , at least for the balance of the winter , we will have to put our gatherings on
hold . Before checking out , I want to give a special thanks to the women I work with on the Planning Committee . Whether we are planning a simple game night or a more elaborate holiday party , it is always a group effort and each person brings to the table their unique gifts . My thanks to Deanna Morgan , Robyn Andrus , Mary Costa and Shirley Wilkinson . I look forward to working with all of you to reward our membership with some memorable programs once we resume meeting . And if you are a single woman living in Charbonneau , and you would like to join our group once we start up again , please contact Deanna at deannamorgan @ gmail . com , and she will be happy to add you to our mailing list .
Well , the sun is ducking behind a cloud , signaling I can begin my respite from writing my monthly articles . Time to work on taxes , attack a good book , watch a Netflix movie and stay away from shopping on Amazon Prime ! Stay well and healthy everyone and I promise to be back soon !

Rotary event to take place in April

Oregon department clarifi es contested hearing process
After Legacy Health requested a contested hearing over the Oregon Health Authority ’ s proposed approval of a new psychiatric hospital in north Wilsonville , the Oregon Office of Administrative Hearings will oversee the hearing process .
The health authority has yet to refer the case to the administrative hearings office , but when it does , a pre-hearing conference will be scheduled ( usually within 14 days after the case is referred ). At that meeting , a hearing date is typically selected . Sometimes a hearing date is scheduled months into the future so that parties can engage in discovery or settlement discussions , according to Communications Director Rebeka Gipson-
King .
The process concludes with an administrative judge issuing a proposed order to the health authority that includes “ detailed findings of fact , legal analysis and a recommended outcome ,” she added .
The hospital proposal was first issued in 2019 and it took the health authority over two years to issue a proposed decision . And the end to this process may still be many months away .
“ Given the length and complexity of cases of this nature , it can take a year or more for the process to play out before the administrative law judge issues a decision ,” Gipson- King said .
However , the health authority doesn ’ t have to follow the judge ’ s order . It can reverse the order or tweak it — but needs to provide an explanation for doing so , Gipson- King said .
After denying a previous proposal from Universal Health , the health authority proposed the approval of a facility in part to alleviate the ongoing crisis with psychiatric patients being placed in hospital emergency departments for an extended period because there ’ s nowhere else for them to go . However , it issued many conditions to the approval and reduced the number of beds it would allow from 100 to 60 .
