What are some of the new safety protocols your facility has implemented ? “ At Briarcliffe , we have implemented many additional safety protocols . The following are just a few of our practices . All staff members are screened each time they report for work . This involves taking temperatures and using the screening tool . Every day . Every team member . Meanwhile , essential vendors delivering food , supplies , etc ., get treated exactly the same way as our other healthcare professionals , i . e . physicians , x-ray technicians and so on . Furthermore , as part of the RIDOH surveillance testing program , our staff is tested for COVID-19 either weekly or biweekly . High touch areas are appropriately cleaned / sanitized by both housekeeping and the nursing staff with EPA-approved disinfectants . Socialization is being provided by individual activity staff members making frequent rounds to interact with residents in their rooms . All staff are utilizing appropriate PPE and are frequently in-serviced on infection control . “ All of Saint Antoine Community is compliant in following Level III Restrictions and Guidance as issued by the RIDOH .
All staff are required to : Complete the COVID-19 symptom and exposure screening form prior to starting their shift ; have their temperature read by a dedicated COVID-19 screener — if an employee has a temp of 100.4 or higher , they are sent home and not allowed back until a negative COVID-19 result is received ; fulfill proper hand hygiene steps prior to starting their shift ; attend regular infection control educational sessions , including : proper mask wearing , sanitation and hand hygiene , exposure prevention , etc .; not enter a break room if it exceeds one person per six feet of space ; quarantine for twenty-four days if exposed to COVID-19 outside of work — quarantine for fourteen days if travelled to a “ hot spot ” state ; and participate in regular testing .
All residents are required to : quarantine in their room or apartment for fourteen days should they elect to leave the property for any of the following reasons [ voluntary or not ]: non-essential medical appointments , emergency room transport , hospitalization , shopping , hair salon services , social gatherings and reunions , etc .; always wear a mask when travelling around the building ; wash their hands prior to entering dining room ; wear a mask when waiting for seating in the dining room ; only remove mask when eating and / or drinking in common areas ; and maintain six feet of space from others when eating and / or drinking .”
