LENNOXVILLE WINTER FUN DAY
Lennoxville ' s Atto Beaver Park was the scene of a Winter Fun Day last Saturday.
The action all kicked off at 10 a. m. with skating, snowshoeing, bounce houses for the kids, sliding, and more. A campfire was burning for all to warm up and toast marshmallows around. At 11 a. m., the sound of horse sleigh bells could be heard as Bob Harrison of Milby Meadows Horse Farm was busy giving horsedrawn wagon rides to anyone that wanted to hop on. At around noon, Lennoxville Town Councilors Claude Charron, Linda Boulanger, The Right Honorable David Price and David ' s wife, Helga, fired up the barbecue grill to cook hot dogs for all to enjoy. Inside the building, face painting and cotton candy was being enjoyed.
Lennoxville’ s Winter Fun Day has become a true Lennoxville tradition that both young and old look very much forward to. It brings all together for a day of winter fun and friendship. The weather was a tad chilly but the laughs and smiles warmed everyone ' s hearts and made it a day to remember.

UPCOMING LUNENBURG EVENTS Though the temperatures are still chilly, spring is on the horizon with another maple sugaring season. The Lunenburg annual Maple Festival will be held for the twelfth year on March 25 – a full day of family fun to celebrate the community’ s rich sugaring heritage.
As part of this year’ s Festival, the Town of Lunenburg Historical Society will be sponsoring a no-fee quilt square contest. Last year’ s contest yielded outstanding quilt squares that were used to create an equally outstanding quilt, which will be raffled at this year’ s Festival. A photo can be found at www. lunenburghistoricalsociety. org / 4. html.
Quilters of all ages and skill levels and from any state are invited to participate in this contest. During the Festival the entries will be displayed and a“ People’ s Choice” award will be given in each category. After the Festival, the squares will be made into a quilt and / or other items that will be raffled at the 2018 Maple Festival. The raffle proceeds will help with the restoration of Lunenburg’ s Old Town Hall, the future home of their museum and site of educational programs and genealogical research.
There are only a few rules for entry, and they are as follows.
Participants must create a 12-and-a-half-inch square quilt block which features the contest theme within the 12-inch square area. The half-inch provides the seam allowance for the blocks to be sewn into a quilt. Please, only one block per entrant.
Entrants must create the block from 100 percent cotton
