Boeckman Road to close for a year or more as ‘ dip ’ is replaced by bridge

By KAELYN CASSIDY Pamplin Media Group
The days of the “ dip ” are done : A portion of Boeckman Road closed for construction in January .
Over the next year , a bridge will be constructed over the Boeckman “ dip ,” flattening out the steep roadway . Wider sidewalks , bike lanes and other improvements to the road will also be added , along with sewer lines to serve the Frog Pond area and improvements to the intersection of Boeckman Road and Canyon Creek Road .
Starting Monday , Jan . 22 , the road was completely closed to traffic between Canyon Creek Road and Sherman Drive for the next 12-15 months , with construction expected to finish in spring or summer 2025 .
No thru traffic is permitted on that portion of Boeckman Road during that time . Instead , traffic will be diverted via Stafford Road or Canyon Creek Road onto Elligsen Road , and a new temporary light was recently installed at the intersection of Stafford Road and Southwest 65th Avenue to handle the increased traffic volume .
The city broke ground on the first phases of the Boeckman Creek Corridor project over the summer , and since then the expected cost to complete it has increased by $ 13 million , bringing the total cost of the project to about $ 41 million .
Despite the increased costs , the Wilsonville City Council voted to move forward with the construction
The city of Wilsonville says this dip on Boeckman Road is unsafe .

last month because of the safety improvements the city expects to complete ahead of the opening of the primary school in Frog Pond in September 2025 .
Construction is currently expected to take place Monday through Friday from 9 a . m . to 3 p . m ., though schedule adjustments are possible . To receive alerts about additional traffic impacts and other news about the project , text BOECKMAN to 866-935-0125 .
