Girl's Soccer
The girls’ soccer season has come to an end. “It’s been a great season.” says Freshman Alexis Deese, "I've learned a lot." From their first game in late February where they beat Queens Grant with a score of 2-1, to now. The team has bonded and became a family.
Out of the 22 regular season games the team played, one of the most important this season was the Pine Lake Prep game. The Rams played an amazing game, connecting passes and taking shots. This was a big game for the team because it was the last time they would play Pine Lake Prep, since Pine Lake is leaving the conference. At the half, the score was 1-0, scored by Sophomore Valentina Nieto. During the second, Pine Lake got an early scoring opportunity, but Highland didn’t give up. Tied 1-1 with less than 15 minutes left in the second half, Senior Haley Euler got an amazing shot, bringing the score to 2-1. Highland ended up winning the game with the final score of 2-1.
Overall, the Highland Tech Lady Rams have had a successful season. The final record this season was 9-13-1. The coach is Jonathan Reed and the managers are Cameron Thomas and Christian Herrera. The captains of the soccer team this year are Senior Marlin Ludwig and Junior Katie Mcintosh.
