Cooling Off a Hot Tub Fire

Late Saturday night, January 23rd, firefighters from Farmingville Fire Department were activated for a reported structure fire on Hammond Lane. As the first chief arrived, there was visible fire from a fully involved hot tub on the side of the home which extended to the
home. Multiple hand lines were stretched and crews began the fight just as snow began to fall. The fire was brought under control in
about 30 minutes and all units took up about two hours later.

Quick Stop Saves Home

On Tuesday, January 19th, at about 5:30pm the Hagerman Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire with fire in the walls of a home at 134 Evergreen
Lane. Upon arrival of officers, a working structure fire signal was activated and mutual aid was requested. North
Patchogue and Bellport Fire Departments sent engines
to the scene, and Brookhaven Fire Department stood
by at Hagerman’s headquarters. Major damage to the
home was prevented by the quick work of responding
units in locating and extinguishing the fire in the walls.
