MOTIVATION FOR SEEKING AN FCCSA BOARD POSITION:
I’ m a family man- I’ m married, I have adult children, and two spoiled 60lb. fur babies who like to be carried around like toddlers. I have occupational backgrounds in project management and finance with experience in commercial construction, landscaping, and securities trading. I’ m health and fitness minded, enjoy riding bikes, and an enthusiast for rebuilding, repairing, and re-purposing broken or discarded treasures. I believe in exercising independent judgment, and always acting with integrity in an ethical manner. I believe in showing empathy and kindness, especially to those in need. My motivation is the same as it always has been for volunteering- To help FCCSA be the best it can be. In 2024, the current Board of Directors fundamentally changed its role. The Board went from being a governing body to that of a command and control micromanager. Change can be good when its benefits clearly outweigh the costs, but micromanagement by a board consisting of volunteers who are virtually managing the day to day operations of one of the largest master-planned communities in Texas is not viable; not in the long-run. Focused on reducing spending, the Board withdrew its membership from the

Ft. Bend Chamber of Commerce, and it no longer shows support for Missouri City and the City of Sugar Land by choosing not to be a sponsor at their annual State of the City presentations. FCCSA does not exist in a vacuum. Ft. Bend County, Missouri City, the City of Sugar Land and FCCSA are all members of the same community. FCCSA, along with some of its neighborhoods, has partnered with these municipalities on various projects and will continue to do so. It’ s vital that we continue to show support to our fellow community partners as they have supported us. Under the current board leadership, our cultural and community events were canceled. Holi, Lunar New Year, Food Truck Wednesday, and National Ice Cream Day are among some of the canceled events.
Under the current board leadership, the number of neighborhood inspectors was reduced to two. The reduction to two residential inspectors in one of the largest communities in the state of TX is an abject failure. The FCCSA office has over 15,000 interactions with members every month. One of the top reasons that members cite for making improvements or modifications without approval is,“ I didn’ t know”. Constant communication is key, always has been, and always will be, yet the Board has not invested in improving communications with its members. In 2023, the Communications Master Plan was adopted by the Board, but it has yet to be implemented.
There is more to successfully running one of the largest master-planned communities in the state of Texas than being hyper-focused on streamlining operations. Intangibles don’ t show up in financial statements. Supporting our community partners, spending for community events and cultural events buys Goodwill. How can we put a price on cultural pride and celebration, community cohesion, and happiness( resident satisfaction)?
My goals as a 2026 director are to work with the Board to:
• Return control of FCCSA operations to our executive director because micromanagement stifles innovation
• Bring back our community and cultural celebrations
• Re-establish support to our community partners- Ft. Bend County, Missouri City, and the City of Sugar Land
• Update our residential and commercial deed restrictions and architectural guidelines.
• Help oversee full integration of the Communications Master Plan
I am deeply committed to the FCCSA community- residential members and commercial members. If elected, I pledge to work with my fellow board members to put community and family first. Thank you for your consideration.
