When I was first starting out in this
business one of my supervisors told
me that we as a grounds crew were
sort of like baseball umpires – we were
doing our best work when nobody
noticed we were out there. Now,
having been in the industry for nine
years and an Assistant Superintendent
for the past three, I have to say that I
couldn’t disagree more.
Sunday the 27th is the Kid’s Halloween
Party and costume contest, with all
kinds of fun activities for the kids and
adults. It is from 3-5pm…come get some
freaky food for the whole family!

Kids beware! It’s time to
start creating costumes
for the Kids Annual
Halloween Party. The
Club transforms into
a kids Halloween
headquarters on
Sunday, October 27th from 3-5pm.
Kids, moms and dads should dress up in
their spookiest attire and compete in the
costume contest. Prizes for the scariest,
funniest, best family themed and most
original costumes will be given out.
Bring your pumpkins to the Club for the
3rd Annual Pumpkin Smash on Sunday,
November 3rd from 2:30-5pm. This is
an event for all ages with pumpkin
launching, hay rides, hot fall drinks,
good food and good times. Oh, don’t
forget about making s’mores over an
open fire. New this year will be a kids
interactive pumpkin launcher where
they can try their hand at hitting
targets set up on the range. Also try
your hand at a Gallagher Sledge-OMatic style pumpkin smash. For those
of you that attended last year and
remember the pumpkin canon it’s back
and better then ever. I like the saying,
GO BIG OR GO HOME! The canon will
be super charged this year and we
will see if we can launch a pumpkin
300 yards. Somebody better warn the
grounds crew!
The CSU Tailgate / Chili Cook-Off is
just around the corner and we are still
looking for a few Cook-Off contenders.
Let me know if you are interested. Put
your CSU game day fare on and come
out to the Club on Friday, October 18th
from 5-9pm and have fun with all your
friends. Special guests will be making
appearances in helping us cheer on the
CSU football team before they head to
win the Border War in Wyoming the
next day. This is an event for all ages
and is full of family fun. Live music on
the main stage and you might even
see someone marching in with fanfare.
Warm up your football skills and try
your hand at our football tryout style
games and activities. Do you think you
still have it? Chef Greg will be flipping
burgers and dogs with all the game
day favorite munchies. Anyone who
has an RV sitting in the driveway is
welcome to pull in with style and park
in the VIP section. Please feel welcome
to bring the friends! This party is a go
rain or shine! There will be plenty of
libations to keep you warm or snuggle
up to one of the many bon fires.
The Club still has a few prime dates in
December open to host your holiday
event. Whether a party of 10 or 200,
the Club is a great place to showcase
your Holiday luncheon or dinner party.
