As they say, now the hard work starts! The Board and the Committee are looking forward to the challenge. Before I discuss the next steps, let me say how happy we (the Board and Committee) were with the participation of the members in the process. Of the voting members, 75% voted in the special meeting. Most of the members who voted also attended one of our information sessions during the month of August. As we approached our recommendations and the vote on moving forward, we really wanted to make sure that members understood the state of the Club, the competition, trends in our market and industry, and then made an informed decision. Thanks for taking the time to invest in the future of the Club. As we stated in the meetings, we will complete the capital improvements in two phases. Phase I will be indoor tennis and fitness, and Phase II will add the new Grill and Pro Shop. Our first step will be to finance the project. Our committee is working with local banks to get proposals and to reach a decision by the end of October. The Committee members are Dennis Johnson, Dan Gasper, Mike Sanders, Scott Szymoniak, and myself. The second step is to identify the final architect/contractor team to build the project. The Construction Committee members are: Dennis Sinnett, Bob Davis, Brian Dunbar, Sean Tomlinson, Drew Stapelman, and Scott Szymoniak. They plan to make a selection by November 15th, if not sooner. Once we get the key players identified, we will hold update meetings with the members periodically. We’d appreciate your feedback along the way. As I stated in our information sessions, the Board will closely track our progress and keep you informed of the decision to proceed or not with Phase II and in what time frame. Phase II will require some continued improvement in our membership sales. I am looking forward to this exciting time at Fort Collins County Club. The community of members seems very united in making this year, and the years to come, a great success.
