ON THE COVER
PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
In this month’s newsletter, I’d like to
make a few comments about some key
recent events at the Club and give you
an update on memberships.
In late-June we had two significant
events on the same day: our Phase I
“official” groundbreaking ceremony and
Mark Smith
our first ever lottery for indoor tennis
Club President
times. The groundbreaking ceremony
marked a significant step in enhancing the position of the Fort
Collins Country Club as the premier club of choice for families
in Northern Colorado! The addition of fitness and indoor tennis
gives us the most complete collection of year-round recreational
and social amenities in the region. With an excellent golf
course, active indoor and outdoor tennis programs, a resortlike swimming pool, a spa, a fitness facility that also includes
individual and group programs, our formal and informal dining,
and a full social calendar, the word is getting out that there is
no better place to relax with family and friends than the Fort
Collins Country Club! Later that same day, about 40 members
attended the first ever lottery for court times in the fall/winter
session. Basically, a random drawing process gave members
a chance at their preferred court times for their groups in the
September-December session. I’m pleased to say that most of
the prime time spots were filled, yet almost every group got their
first choice! We are also filling times with clinics and lessons
and have left 25% of our court times open for drop-in or online
reservations. This practice separates FCCC from the other
tennis venues in the region. Our tennis philosophy mirrors our
golf philosophy: People who join Fort Collins Country Club
do so because one of the benefits is the convenience of playing
when you want to play, with plenty of choices. Our tennis
program will offer great flexibility.
The Fourth of July celebration is one of my favorites on our
social calendar. A day can’t get much better than playing a
round of golf, hitting some tennis balls, spending time at the
pool, and then capping it off with a wonderful fireworks show
for our members and guests. I think this day always reflects well
on the entire set of amenities and social programs that we enjoy,
and I know of several new members who made their decision
to join our Club after coming out to our celebration last
year. Thanks to the staff for all you do to make these
celebrations so much fun.
Finally, I’d like to welcome all of our new members to
Fort Collins Country Club. If those of you who’ve been
around a while think you’re seeing a lot of new faces,
you’re right! Since April 1, we’ve added more than 50 new
members to the Club! Thanks to all of the members who
have helped bring more of their friends into our Club and
thanks to Danielle for making their transition to the Club
so smooth. As I said, the word is getting out about the
benefits of being a member at Fort Collins Country Club.
See you at the Club!
