WORDS FROM OUR GM continued... Grounds Report Mike Veile, Grounds Superintendent We will be continuing our maintenance of equipment throughout the winter to better prepare for spring. When we do not have snow cover we will be cleaning the course, watering greens, staining signs, burning slash piles, removing cattails and refurbishing course accessories. Please remember that the ground stays frozen for most of the day even when the temperatures are higher than normal. We will be trying our best to accommodate golf without restriction but we will also put a lot of emphasis on the overall health and agronomy of the course. The more we can help protect the course throughout the winter, along with favorable weather, the better product we should have coming into spring. I would like to thank my staff on the Grounds Department for an outstanding year. They are truly some of my best friends and the reason that we are so successful as a team. We get so caught up in the season that we sometimes forget to recognize those that make this place tick. Chris Davis: Assistant Superintendent, Rick O’Dell: Second Assistant Superintendent, Beryl Snider: Mechanic and of course our crew guys Steve Montabone, David Held and Andrew Cole. These gentlemen are the core of what we do on Grounds. They are very passionate, dedicated and prideful in everything that they do. I am very blessed to be surrounded by such amazing individuals that want nothing but the best for this Club. I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season!
