Patagonia is one of the biggest believers in sustainable and ethical trade which they are proud to promote. Their mission is to build the best product, cause no unnecessary harm, use business to inspire and implement solutions to the environmental crisis. As a brand they admit they haven't got everything right in the past, but they

are putting that right by making sure all their product is now ethically produced. They went back and looked at their supply chain to reduce all environmental impact of their product. They also provide all their workers with health insurance, paid maternity and paternity leave and childcare.

They have also recently started a service where they restore your Patagonia items instead of you buying new items. The program is called worn wear, it discourages customers from buying more product and they believe they make high quality items which will last for years. Patagonia will also recycle your items once you don't want them anymore, they will make them into new fabrics and fibres. Along with these services Patagonia also have a repair team to extend the life of your items, they also have online guides how to fix and clean their items. This all helps to prolong the use of the items and discourages you from buying more.

Patagonia's website clearly shows the footprint of their product, they call this the footprint chronicles its a map that clearly show where their textile mills, factories and farms are in the world. It also gives you a brief amount of information about each such as the number of workers, the gender mix, the languages spoken and which items are produced where. This isn't something a lot of brands have the confidence to do, as a customer this would defiantly make more likely to buy their product as I will know exactly where its made and I know the workers are being treated fairly.
