Who would guess that a makeup artist went from a psychology degree to doing makeup? Leave it to Sanchez to answer.
"Your reputation is everything. Show up and do beautiful work."
Q: Do you have a go-to fall makeup look?
A: This fall is all about the graphic liquid eyeliner. This trend can visually change the architecture of your eye. Ditch the black liquid liner for shades of bright Sapphire or Turquoise to keep it modern and not too “Twiggy-esque”. My fall favorites are Lancôme Liquid Liner Artliner24H in Sapphire, Turquoise and Emerald.

With shades from blacks, purples and greens, you got your eyes sparkling.
Q: What was the ultimate advice that motivated you to be where you are today?
A: It’s very simple. Your reputation is everything. Show up and do beautiful work.

Q: We first met at the insider special of Macy's Glamorama, so let us begin there. Describe your previous experience with the Glamorama.
A: That insider reception was a fun and fabulous teaser of the epic production that is Macy’s Glamorama.
I have been creating the makeup look for the show since 2008. Glamorma is a total high and adrenalin-fueled week. It also is an absolute privilege to work with the inspirational child ambassadors that represent Glamorama every year.
Q: You earned a psychology degree at the University of Illinois. However, how did you discover your Lancôme makeup career from a psychology degree?
I had studied psychology in an attempt to please my parents whom I love very much. They wanted a doctor (like all parents). Instead, they got an artist. I quit my day job at a Chicago hospital from my first freelance gig in television and I never looked back.
Q: What is the most memorable makeup moment?
Working with Isabella Rossellini was a surreal moment because she was one of my original beauty icons. Her charisma and the flash of her smile really cast a spell as she entered the room. She also shared many stories of another hero of mine--her close friend and personal makeup artist, Kevyn Aucoin.
