Our pop up shop was the first of the groups to run, it ran on the 29th of January from 11 till 3, I personally enjoyed the task and thought it to be challenging in a good way, we were firstly split in a few different teams, the team I was in was PR, this meant we oversaw finding people and asking them to attend our pop up store, it was quite an easy task as we basically considered different brands such as Urban outfitters, ASOS as well as new and upcoming bloggers to attend. We crafted out a basic email that we were to send to everyone that we wanted to, this meant that every email said the same thing and we knew that there were no mistakes, and it seemed very fun yet formal.
I think that our group did contribute a lot to the success of the pop up, however when we started contacting people we only did so one week before the event, and in prospect looking back at this I think if we sent out earlier, a lot more people would have possibly attended. The main thing that I think helped our event was the going out and handing the flyers around and also advertising it on different social media platforms such as some of our Instagram’s and the FRA’s account, as the pop up was quite a quiet area, it was hard to get people to notice that it was an actual store, so we ended up going around and broadcasting the event through handing flyers, sticking flyers onto bus stops around the area, and even handing in to local stores asking for them to hand out when people purchased an item.
I think our group were quite good on the fact that we were telling a lot of people how we are doing this for sustainability, even though our group did unfortunately raise the least money, we did still have a fair few number of people come in to the store, write down their email to receive updates about Traid, as well as taking flyers, and even coming in to hand in their clothes, we thought that maybe some of the clothes were not some peoples cups of tea however they were extremely interested in the event itself.
I think the pop up and campaign was quite relevant to our audience we tried to make the event quite quirky and cool, thinking It would attract a main audience of people our own age, as we thought that is our best bet to go by as we could just essentially campaign to ourselves.
Evaluation on our Pop Up.
