contemporary American writer. The book is about not forgetting the ones we care about and the strength of real, enduring love.
8- Have you ever thought of writing your own book? I have thought of writing a book for a long time. I guess I will do it when I retire … or when I get the spark that is needed to write a book.
9- How was your experience organizing the book day? Was it difficult? Easy?
Book Day is always a rewarding experience. I enjoy having the chance to share what I do with more people, and trying to encourage my students to read more. This year, we also had the opportunity to share our work with the whole community at the cafeteria where we read a poem by Pablo Neruda. It was especially moving to see my students there supporting the activity. It is not a matter of“ easy or difficult”; it’ s a matter of having time to do all we need to do the best way possible.
10- How much time did it take to you to prepare the event? A month and a half.
11- How do you select the people who work with you?
Actually, I don’ t select anyone. The beauty of this and the main objective is to have volunteers to do everything, from the posters to the final show. And this is for students and for teachers. This year, teacher Mariela Castillo prepared some students for the show too, and I hope next year we will count on the support of more teachers and more students as well. We need everyone to take part in this. We have artists in our career, for example, and they are fundamental in this kind of activities.
12- What would you like to do for the next English week, book day, etc?
Teacher Mariela Castillo and I have been thinking about a musical. It would be a great challenge and a wonderful opportunity to develop speaking skills in our students and get to know more about the talents they have. And it would be so much fun!
Thank you very much for your attention! Anytime, dear. Plus, I feel like a movie star …
