By: Pilar Rosales Editor: Vanessa Aburto
Literature introduces us to a new world of experience, fantasy and knowledge, and there is a woman in charge of getting us involved on it. Her name,( Miss) Paola Vega, literature teacher at Universidad San Sebastian. This charismatic woman has been working in the university for the last three years, not only teaching, but also settling up the different activities that are performed during the year( with the collaboration of other teachers). Undoubtedly, her ideas and help have made these events funnier and more interesting.
This interview is chiefly focused on the biggest passion of our interviewed:“ Literature and books”. She tells us about her relationship with books and remarks us the importance of reading.
1- Why do you like literature?
I like it because I have fun reading. I never leave my house without a book. I read when I travel, when I queue up at the bank, at the bus stop. Plus, I always get a lesson for life. I feel that books have something to say to me and I’ m prepared to listen, or read.
2- What kind of reading do you prefer?
There are two love stories that I have enjoyed, but I don’ t usually read love stories. I enjoy thrillers, detective and mystery stories and biographies of my favorite artists. I’ m developing the taste of reading more History; I hope I succeed in this.

In a more cultural level I think reading helps the reader connect with other cultures and points of views, and at the same time with their own inner emotions and thoughts.
5- How many books have you read in the last 3 years?
That’ s hard to say because I have read so many books for my classes that I hardly ever have time to read just for fun. I read around 4 complete novels each semester plus all the short stories, so you can do the math! But I have read some good ones for fun, like“ The Kiss”, about Gustav Klimt, and some books based on the life and work of Antony Gaudi.
7- Could you recommend us any book? What is it about? There is one book that changed the way I look at life. It’ s called
“ The Notebook”. It was written by Nicholas Sparks, a
