As you must have heard, a dog is the best man's companion; it is a cliché but its also true. We should all know that dogs are beautiful souls that are here to give nothing but smiles and love, so it is time we took care of them. Today there are million of unwanted and homeless dogs all over the world. Homeless dogs fight from hunger and diseases that are almost never treated. Over more than a half of puppies in developing countries die from illnesses such as rabies and distemper. As for the puppies that are for sale in local pet stores all over the world, are sold for company that only care about profit and expanding their brand name, and they almost always ignore the puppy's needs. In Mexico there is a large company called +KOTA. This pet shop has been reported and demanded countless times to the authorities, but because of the corruption and the wealth of the company, the government does nothing. The store keeps the puppies inside cages with metal railings; as a result the puppies begin to present a disease that immobilized there hands and feet, and even though the puppies are physically and mentally ill the store sells them for an unimaginable price.

According to an article in NBCNEWS "No pups for sale? Cities ban pet shops." in 2010 "People have got to wake up to the fact that [most] dogs coming from pet stores are coming from puppy mills," Even though there is not an exact number of how many dogs sold in pet stores come from puppy mills, we know there are between two and four million dogs born from puppy mills in the U.S. every year, and most of these dogs end up in pet stores or sold over the internet. The NBCNEWS article also stated that "Every time we do a pet store investigation [after a complaint], we find that puppy mills are the suppliers,". The good news is that in the U.S. since they banned pet stores in some cities, animal adoptions have increased incredibly.
