We include a retailer survey in the show program so we can learn what their needs are and what we can do to ensure this show continues to be valuable to attendees . Some key topics that have continued to come up from so many stores are hiring , training and using social media . We want you to know that we are hearing you and are working to put together experts in these fields to offer some training at the next show , in addition to the store-to-store time , so retailers can discuss these topics together after the trainings . Please know we are here to serve you , and this is your show . Do not hesitate to reach out to let us know what would make the show valuable to you .

Since the summer show was held in Kentucky , it only seemed fitting to continue this tradition with a Derby Day theme . Attendees came out in their best Derby attire with bright colors , large hats and bowties . Attendees were even greeted in the morning by Big Lex , the big blue horse that is Lexington ’ s mascot . The convention and visitor ’ s bureau staff actually had to guide the gentleman in the costume around the show floor because apparently that costume did not allow for clear visibility . And of course , there were prizes for the winners . Prizes were awarded for the most creative costume , the best dressed couple and group costume . To celebrate 20 years , 20 horses were hidden throughout the show floor , and whoever found a horse won a prize . Thank you to everyone who participated and allowed us all to have so much fun while doing business .
The next show will be held in Charleston , SC , and all I can say is get your dancing shoes ready ! CRA
CPE Summer 2023 was the show with the largest number of retailers in attendance and the second highest attended show in history !
A few years ago , we saw that shipping times were increasing and wanted to encourage retailers to order early to receive their product in time for Christmas . We “ spruced up ” this concept by decorating for Christmas at the winter show as a reminder to place your Christmas orders in February . The concept then grew into adding a Christmas dress-up day and contest during the show . But a wonderful thing came from that . Folks had fun , laughed out loud and most importantly told us that it opened the door for them to have conversations with complete strangers , which helped new stores feel welcome and meet new vendors .
143 retail companies , shopping for 254 locations
6 different countries represented
3,076 orders placed in two days
An average of 33 orders per store
