MESSAGE FROM THE PARK BOARD PRESIDENT

Dear friends and neighbors ,

Fall is a special time of year . The mornings are cool and crisp , and the trees around town and in our parks are turning brilliant hues . There is no better time to connect with nature , try a new hobby , hone a skill , join a league and meet fellow community members . Here ’ s a sampling of what ’ s in store at the Glenview Park District this season .

Youth Flag football and volleyball leagues are back , providing a fantastic opportunity for kids to practice teamwork and stay active . Our leagues aren ’ t just for kids ; register for adult softball , volleyball and new pickleball leagues .
We are thrilled to partner with Greener Glenview for our first-ever gently used Sports Equipment Swap , Sunday , August 27 , from noon to 3 pm , in the West Gym at Park Center . The swap is an excellent opportunity to upcycle items you no longer need and get great deals on equipment for the coming season . You ’ ll also be helping to keep used sports items out of the landfill . Plus , proceeds benefit the Glenview Park Foundation . It ’ s a win-win-winwin ! Donations will be accepted August 24-26 . See more details here .
Special events take center stage this season . What ’ s cooler than going back to school ? How about the Glenview Community Ice Center ’ s Stay Cool @ Back-to- School celebration , 5:30-9 pm , Friday , August 25 . Enjoy free lessons , activities and public skating !
