Sophie Wilkins - 2nd Vice President

Salvete vomnes! I am a senior at Riverside High School, and I'll be in AP Latin in the Spring semester because of RHS's block scheduling. I feel I'm one of those people who is more a "jack of all trades" person with how varying my interests are. From learning colloquialisms of different languages to watching obscure anime to following crochet tutorials for different projects, I plan to do participating in activism, it sometimes feels like too many things for one human to be involved in, but I can't imagine not being into all of them. I especially love the JCL for the community it has given me in Certamen and Spirit and in general, as well as feeding my competitiveness in Certamen and creativity in the vast range of arts competitions it provides. All in one place I have been able to joke with friends about stabbing a bit of fabric more than a thousand times for embroidery, act out passages for Dramatic Interpretation, and make fun of certain cheers. I'm immensely excited to be part of NCJCL's executive board this year, even with the struggles of adapting to most things being online!

Katherine Buchanan - Parliamentarian

I am a senior at Reagan high school in Pfafftown. I am an avid reader, I play the flute in our marching and concert bands, and I am captain of two of our Academic teams. I have been in the JCL for 4 years now and it has been one of the most rewarding decisions I have made. Serving on the executive board has brought me together with people I would have never met before and allowed me to figure out what kind of leader I am.
