Meet Your 2020 - 2021 NCJCL Officers
Harper de Andrade - President
Hi guys, my name is Harper, and I am your NCJCL President this year! I am a senior at Riverside High School in Durham, and I am going to be taking AP Latin in the Spring. Over my past four years in the JCL, I have been able to attend a bunch of JCL events and, in turn,have met a lot of people. That’s my favorite part of the JCL, the People. From everyone in NC I have met at Fall Forum to the JCLers who live across the country that I met at Nats, I have loved every minute I’ve been given to spend with other JCLers.
As we enter this year of JCL online, I hope each of you will continue to pursue making new friends, at Fall Forum and beyond, because you never know who you might meet!
Lauren Olarte - 1st Vice President
I’m a senior at Franklin Academy in AP Latin. My favorite part of JCL is definitely the passion that everyone has for Classics. I can always strike up a conversation with anyone I meet at Fall Forum or State Convention, and they’re always so excited to be there. That’s what makes conventions so exciting - the people!! A fun fact about me is that I’m a huge theater nerd. If you see me at fall forum or any other JCL event, I’d love to talk to you about Latin, but I can also talk your ear off about Broadway.
