MOHIT WAS BORN in Chandigarh , in the Northern part of India . He completed a diploma in Instrument technology from Indo Swiss Training Centre and worked as an Engineer in a Multi – National Company . In 1994 , he joined the Punjab Police in India as an Assistant Sub Inspector and graduated from Punjab Police Academy with Honours . He then completed his basic Commando Training from Police Commando Training School in Patiala and also completed his Bachelor of Arts from Kurukshetra University . He worked as the officer in-charge of various police posts / police stations and was posted in different units of Punjab Police ,¬¬¬ gaining immense experience in investigations , crime-prevention techniques , intelligence gathering , anti-corruption bureau , crime wing , and forensics before permanently moving to Canada in 2010 .
Starting from a transitional job as a security & parking supervisor at Credit Valley Hospital , Mohit worked his way into the municipal sector through part-time jobs in the Enforcement & By-laws services in the Town of Aurora & City of Oshawa . He finally got his full-time job as an Enforcement Officer with the City of Brampton in 2012 and since 2016 he has been working as a Property Standards Officer . He is a certified MLEO and Certified Property Standards Officer and has been an integral part of the City of Brampton ’ s Lodging House Task Force and member of the Second Unit Task Force . He has also been serving his local Union in different roles as the Secretary-Treasurer of CUPE 831 since 2016 , Steward and JHSC member since 2022 . Mohit has also been a regular member of City of Brampton ’ s Enforcement Ceremonial Unit since its formation .

What aspects of being an MLEO do you enjoy most ?
I love interacting with members of our community . I spend a great deal of time talking and listening to community member concerns . The City of Brampton has given me to educate our community of bylaw matters through ethnic media ¬ such as TV & Radio interviews . Every day in this role teaches me something new ; I am constantly learning and evolving .
