YOUNG LAWYER SHOWCASE

The Young Lawyers Section ( YLS ) continues to host social events across the state , providing great networking opportunities for young lawyers . If you are interested in hosting or attending an event , please contact the Young Lawyers Section at younglawyersnd @ gmail . com . In addition , YLS will be hosting webinars on a variety of topics . All lawyers are encouraged to participate in these webinars to earn continuing legal education credits .

SYDNEY EINARSON BATA
Sydney Einarson Bata is an attorney and shareholder at Einarson Law Office in Grafton , where she grew up . She graduated from North Dakota State University in December 2016 with a bachelor of science in psychology and a minor in human development and family science . After completing her undergraduate degree , Bata attended University of North Dakota ( UND ) School of Law , graduating in August 2020 after taking a semester off for the birth of her first child . While at UND Law , she was chosen to attend a summit on agricultural laws at Georgetown University .
Bata started her career at Einarson Law Office as a law clerk and a legal assistant in May 2016 . She has been a trained mediator since May 2016 , a licensed attorney in North Dakota since April 2021 , a certified parenting investigator since 2022 , and a licensed attorney in Minnesota since September 2023 . She mediates for the North Dakota Family Mediation Program and is on the roster of qualified parenting investigators in North Dakota .
As a child of divorce , Bata is passionate about all family law matters and enjoys helping clients through those difficult times . She is a member of the Park River Area School Board and the youth committee at her church . She has spent time volunteering at animal shelters and on local improvement projects . She organized teams and raised money for the Out of the Darkness Walk for Suicide Prevention and Alzheimer ’ s Association Walk to End Alzheimer ’ s .
Bata , her husband , and their three children ( ages six , three , and three months ) live in Adams , where her husband farms . In her free time , she likes to read , paint , travel , and spend time with her family .
CHUCK STEINBERGER
Chuck Steinberger graduated from North Dakota State University with a bachelor of science in agriculture business with minors in accounting and economics , and the University of North Dakota School of Law where he received his juris doctor in 2023 . While in law school , Steinberger served as secretary of the Rural Practice Association , Internal Moot Court Co-Coordinator , and competed in Catholic University of American and Notre Dame External Moot Court contests . After law school , he served as law clerk to the Honorable Daniel J . Crothers of the North Dakota Supreme Court .
He recently joined Pearce Durick PLLC in Bismarck as an associate . Steinberger focuses his practice on general civil litigation , personal injury and tort litigation , trust and estates , and banking and bankruptcy law .
Outside of work , he is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys hunting and fishing . Steinberger enjoys family and friends , as well as spending time with his dog . He is a supporter of the North Dakota FFA and donates blood .
