Editors of The Missouri Reader are excited to announce a special edition of our journal dedicated to exploring the intersection of poetry and literacy. We invite researchers, educators, and poets to contribute to this unique issue, which aims to deepen our understanding of how poetry can enhance and promote literacy in various educational and cultural contexts.
Poetry, with its rich history, diverse forms, and profound use of language, has the potential to stimulate creativity, critical thinking, and a love for language. This special edition will serve as a platform to investigate and celebrate the ways in which poetry can foster literacy skills, engage readers, and promote a deeper appreciation for the written and spoken word.
We welcome submissions that address a wide range of topics within the theme of poetry and literacy, including but not limited to:
Submissions may include research articles, essays, case studies, book or app reviews, and teaching practices related to the theme of poetry and literacy.
