of their unfortunate studying environments or their inability to withstand stressful conditions . A smart student may study hard , but still not do good on a final exam . So , the test is unfair because it may not simply developing toxic mindsets and bad habits .
Taken together , final exams create extreme stress for students . During the entire school year , students take countless quizzes and unit tests . Also , taking the final exam at the end of the year will not tell teachers where students ’ knowledge is . Some students do not perform well in exams . A smart student , who studies hard , may still not do good on a test . And students will not learn a lot from their final exam studies . The term exam should be held in fair circumstances where all student ’ s strengths are treated equally . exactly express all student ’ s abilities as the exam does not account for the underlying factors that led to the disappointing grade . Jason Byun , who is an 8th grader and he is a high-standard student and always performs well during the school year . Nonetheless , his test scores do not reflect his knowledge and effort . According to Jason Byun , “ Before the upcoming large test , I usually struggle and cannot get to sleep easily .” This quote tells us some students struggle with big tests more than others . This may make final exams unfair representations of a student ’ s ability .

Finally , from my personal experience , when students cram for their final exams or any other assignment , they will learn enough material to barely pass in a short period of time . This means they will forget mostly everything they have learned . More importantly , this is an issue because students tend to only focus on passing their exams instead of not truly learning and studying the material given . I , as a student , want this fact to be heard by the school teachers and principal . Also , this rule of having a final exam is ruining the school ’ s purpose of expanding knowledge , and students ’ feelings will change from school being a place to learn to a toxically competitive society solely centered around good grades . David Cho , a 9th grader said , “ I sometimes come to a mental breakdown and ask myself a question whether I am here at school to study and earn knowledge or to maintain good grades .” Most of the students are not learning from their final exam studies , and are
