Final Exames Should Be Abolished

The last week of school is full of final exams . This means that students are in the stage of studying for hours for their final exams . Final exams create extreme stress for students . Final exams exist because it is a way of testing students on what they have learned in the grade . However , most schools do not take any actions to support failing students and instead claim that the final exam is worth the stress . Three reasons why we should abolish final exams are that there are already countless tests during each chapter and unit , most students do not perform well in a high-pressure environment , and students won ’ t effectively learn when cramming for their final exams . to put students under the immense pressure of final exams for a pointless grade . “ Danny Kim 11th grade said , “ My final week of school was terrible . Even though I got good grades on the final exam , I have crammed all my eight subject studies and that caused me some huge stress .” Like Danny Kim said , final exams had negative effects on him , and his quotation reveals that students must endure large amounts of stress simply to partake in an ultimately useless exam .
Some might believe that final exams are necessary to measure students ’ academic performances . In response to an interview question on the importance of examinations , English teacher Dan Roberts replied that , “ the exams are a tool that allows me to see how my students are faring within my class .” However , throughout the entire school year , students take countless quizzes and unit tests and using these quizzes and tests , students ’ progress is always being tracked . Therefore , the final exam at the end of the year is not necessary to allow teachers to measure their students ’ abilities . Students ’ current grades ( rounded grades ) alone can show whether a student understands the class material . Given this fact , it would be unreasonable
