Boys Qualify for State Tournament in Stellar Season

The Saddle Brook Falcons boys basketball team delivered an exciting and competitive 2025–2026 campaign under the leadership of Head Coach Ricky Carroll, finishing with a 5–3 mark in the NJIC American Division. The season was highlighted by an important milestone for the program as the Falcons qualified for the NJSIAA state tournament for the first time in several years, reflecting the steady progress and growth of Saddle Brook basketball.

One of the most memorable moments of the season came early, when Saddle Brook defeated Wood-Ridge 69–67 in a thrilling opening matchup, holding on late to secure the victory in a hard-fought contest. Throughout the winter the Falcons proved that they could compete in tight games and rise to the occasion against strong opponents.

Saddle Brook’s offense was led by several standout performers who produced impressive individual seasons. Senior Nelson Ehirim emerged as the team’s leading scorer and one of the most dominant players on the roster. Ehirim finished the year with 434 points, along with 235 rebounds, 23 blocks, and 22 steals in 25 games, showcasing his ability to impact the game on both ends of the court.

Another key offensive contributor was sophomore guard Soloman Hidais, who delivered a breakout season. Hidais scored 384 points, while also leading the team with 62 assists and 33 steals, demonstrating his ability to both score and create opportunities for teammates.
