I feel that it’s such a great genre to write about or just learn more about. I think it would be great to be surrounded by kids who love to read them also and have the same thoughts as I do.” She feels like it would be wonderful to engage the students that love to read books of the same genre and to meet and discuss their thoughts and opinions on the novels. She feels that surrounding kids with others who love to converse on the same things they all enjoy would help unite them and have many benefits.

 

What has been the hardest thing since you started here at SBHS?:

“The hardest thing would have to be acclimating to a new climate and getting used to the people around me. I was able to get used to that pretty quickly. It was also tough getting a reaction out of my students, but that is pretty normal if I have to say. It has taken my students a little bit of time to get out of their summer moods, but I feel that I am finally getting to them and I feel like I have a good relationship with them. I am excited to see where that will take me and how it will develop in a month or

in even a year.”

Ms. Alvarez has been able to get a routine and gain a better understanding of her students. This keeps them more engaged and motivated in her classes. She feels that she still has a lot to learn but is getting a better feel of her students and how she can develop relationships with them. Each experience improves her lessons

and her communication with

the students at SBHS.
