Season Record
The Saddle Brook Girls Basketball team started their season in late November with new incoming head coach, Joseph Colombo. Colombo helped lead the Lady Falcons to a seven-win streak in the middle of their season, later ending with a record of 14-12 and ranked fifth in the NJIC - Meadowlands League. They almost went undefeated in the Lodi Christmas Tournament, closing off with a 2-1 record.
Even with the immense effort and routines established to build the program this year, they faced an unfortunate loss in the first round of the New Jersey State Tournament against Boonton.
Baller Stats and Seniors
The Lady Falcons had a successful season in defeating 12 teams in their league and two teams in their Christmas tournament. The team had a total of 897 points this season with 173 free throws, 240 two-pointers, and 70 three-pointers. Lexi Callari was a team leader in having the most rebounds with 14.
The girls are saying goodbye to five seniors this season. including Lexi Callari, Gabby Gusciora, Deanna Occhipinti, Charmaigne Alcobar, and Adrianna Huertas. Lexi Callari was known for her lockdown defense every game with the task of guarding the best player on the opposing team and succeeding every time. Gabby Gusciora and Deanna Occhipinti were the Falcons’ post players totaling 187 points together. Charmaigne Alcobar and Adrianna Huertas were an enormous help in mentoring the incoming players on the JV team as well as being assets on the varsity team.
