WRESTLERS RETURN TO THE MAT
The Saddle Brook Wrestling team returned to the mat this season and struggled out of the gate. Their overall team record was 5-12. This is understandable considering they lost the majority of last season due to the pandemic. The Falcon wrestlers eventually found their footing with wins over Teaneck, Weehawken, Hoboken, Union City and Bergenfield. They beat Teaneck 40-31 with wins from Franklin Rodriguez, Jonathan Curry, Ben Grater and Zaid Ayyad.
Senior captain, Ben Grater, capped off a solid wrestling career and had the best record on the team this season at 15-3. A highlight this season was junior Andrew Ivanovski placing 3rd in the NJSIAA District 8 tournament qualifying him for the Region 2 tournament. Saddle Brook looks forward to growing next year with a strong core of Junior wrestlers returning. Overall, the wrestlers progressed this season and are looking for more success next year.
