Super Stats
The Falcons ended their season with a total of 332 points, with the help of Joey Quimby scoring almost half. The team also went on to score 51 free throws, 26 3-pointers, and 90 2-pointers. Joey Quimby ended his season as Saddle Brook’s leading scorer with a total of 150 points.
Graduating Seniors
The Falcons said goodbye to 5 seniors this year, including Joey Quimby, Michael Ramos, Justin Cali, Damin Farhart, and Nick Cupo. Their senior day was held on January 18th against North Arlington, where the boys had a close loss. The seniors were honored and escorted with their parents before the game began.
Special Shoutouts & Nominations
Joey Quimby was nominated for Second Team All-League in the Meadowlands Division, where he was honored for the hard work he put in during the season. Marquette Ricks was also given an honorable mention through the NJIC. He also received a nomination for player of the week by nj.com during the week of February 6-11. Marquette won the award, with 42.14% of votes opposed to the other six players.
Fun Fact
The Falcons had an extremely impressive amount of players come out this season, including the widespread attentedence of freshmen. Boy’s basketball is one out of the only two sports in Saddle Brook who have enough numbers to fill a freshmen, JV, and varsity team next to volleyball.
Overall
With the growing numbers on the team, The Falcons will come back next season to improve and grow together. With several underclassmen stepping into starting positions, the boy’s basketball team looks forward to their season next winter.
