The selection was based on Caelen’s performance resume and because she placed first in her audition for the 2021 New Jersey All-State Mixed Chorus as a soprano 2. She was recognized in a ceremony At the Patriot’s Theater at the War Memorial in Trenton on May 28th.
Four students recently auditioned for the 2022-2023 New Jersey All-State Chorus and were accepted to represent Saddle Brook next year in 2 different choirs. Natalia Chahine (alto 2) will be singing in the 2023 All-State Treble Chorus and will be performing in a concert at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) in Newark in February 2023. Jayla Pierre (alto 2), AJ Stanchfield (tenor 2) and Alan Pinzon (bass1) were selected to perform with the New Jersey All-State Mixed Chorus and will be performing in concerts in November 2022 at the Atlantic City Convention Center and also at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) in Newark.
The choral and band program at SBHS will be taking a huge hit next year due to the graduation of many seniors in choir and band. These seniors include Heidi Nosch, Johanna Ocampo, Mo Naegely, and Caelen Mahoney, Jaylan Perocho, Sammy Sanchez, Daniel Garcia, Chris Dixon, and Nolan Shanahan, Thomas Wojcik, Ryan Avallone, Josh Quimbao and Justin Agramante.
