This year's spring musical, Xanadu, was a smashing success. The students of Saddle Brook High School, led by Mr. Ortega, worked around a long list of pandemic restrictions to produce a special in-person live performance. The show opened on Friday, May 21st on a newly built stage behind Long Memorial School. Each student was honored to be a part of this amazing show and wouldn't have wanted to perform with any other group of kids. The show had limited seating, but was still open to the public. Most of the audience each night consisted of friends and family members and faculty of the school due to the fact that the seating was limited.
Everyone in the audience overwhelmingly supported the students that took part in the musical in this difficult year. They were wonderful and respectful to the guidelines and restrictions put in place for the cast’s safety. Mask wearing was mandatory for safety reasons. Everyone did a wonderful job in the show portraying their characters as if they were the characters in real life. The show got better with each performance and finally closed on Sunday, May 23rd. The family and friends that came to watch all loved it. This show was truly wonderful and a big hit.
Congrats to the cast and crew of “XANADU” on a wonderful run of the show!
