Girls Qualify for State Tournament in Strong Season
The Saddle Brook girls soccer team, led by Head Coach Deandra Donato, wrapped up the 2025–2026 season with a record of 11–10–1 overall. Competing in one of the toughest conferences in North Jersey, the Falcons ultimately finished 9th in the NJIC standings, a placement that reflects both the challenges they faced and the progress they made throughout the year.
The season began with promise, as Saddle Brook opened with back-to-back shutout wins over Butler (7–0) and Midland Park (2–0). Early victories against Dwight-Englewood (2–0) and Hasbrouck Heights (4–3) pushed the Falcons to a strong 4–1 start, setting the tone for a team that could score goals and defend with grit. Throughout September, Saddle Brook continued to build momentum, earning decisive wins over Emerson Boro (4–0) and Becton (4–0), while battling to a hard-fought scoreless tie against Rutherford.
October brought both challenges and opportunities. The Falcons fell in the Bergen County Tournament preliminary round to North Arlington (1–0), but bounced back in the Bergen County Invitational, defeating Midland Park 3–0 in the first round before bowing out in the quarterfinals against Indian Hills. The team’s ability to regroup after tough losses was evident again in late October, when they edged Rutherford 1–0 in a defensive battle.
