THE BLOCK PARTY
The Volleyball team went 20-7 with the guidance of Head Coach, Sandy Meyers. They finished second overall in their division, going 16-2 in the Meadowlands Division of the NJIC. Each year they continue to get better and better. Libero, Abigail DePeri had 255 digs, 265 Service Points and 35 aces. Madelynn Faber also had a breakout season with 110 Kills, 59 Blocks, 90 Service Points and 18 aces. Julia Gusciora led the team with 282 assists and also had 201 Service Points and 22 aces. Gabriella Gusciora had a huge contribution with 58 Kills, 88 digs, 271 Service Points and 36 aces and Gianna Vitiello had 89 kills, 66 digs, 182 Service Points and 36 aces. The whole team played well throughout the season.
The team will miss seniors Ariana Torbio, Julia Gusciora, Natalie Escobar and Lexi Callari next year, but look forward to making even more progress as a team. Returning varsity players are juniors’ Abigail DePeri, Gianna Vitiello, Kylah Carter, Madelynn Faber and Victoria Knight and the returning varsity underclassmen are Stella Cahill Slowik, Olivia Gjorgoski and Emily Rychlak. The falcons ended their fantastic season with a loss to Midland Park in the NJSIAA Tournament, Quarterfinal Round, of the North Jersey, Section 1, Group 1 State Tournament. The team is ready to come back strong for the next season.
The Lady Falcons are working hard preparing for next year, and have
high hopes for the team.
