Saddle Brook High School’s girls’ varsity tennis team recently ended its season with a record of 5-7, besting some of the team’s previous performances in recent years.

The team was led to victories by captains and seniors, Gianna D’Alessandro and Sabrina Sanchez.

The varsity lineup also included Gianna D’Alessandro (senior) at first singles, Eneida Kadille (senior) at second singles, and Emma Lee (sophomore) at third singles.

The team also included Sofie Alegado (senior) and Sabrina Sanchez (senior), at first doubles and Stephanie McNamara (freshman) and Alison Walby (sophomore) at second doubles.

The girls’ tennis team has made huge strides in the past couple of years and is looking forward to more milestones on and off the court in the upcoming seasons.

Playing organized tennis while dealing with a worldwide pandemic offered its share of obstacles, but the tennis team preserved and had much success throughout the fall.

These girls spent endless hours working with new freshmen and already experienced members to be sure that their skills were sharp even before the season began.

Even with the oddness of the situation from COVID-19, these girls were able to make this one of the most memorable seasons that this team has had in many years.

With many battle tested players returning next year, our girls are just as excited as ever to see what the future holds for them on the court.
