TODAY A READER, TOMORROW A LEADER: SILVER BIRCH RETURNS TO FLETCHERS

Have you heard? Two great new clubs has just started! Silver Birch and Red Maple give a great opportunity to read books! Every year, these clubs offer ten exciting books to their members. When they read a minimum of five and receive teacher expert approvals for them, they will be given a chance to vote for their favourite. The voting takes place all over Canada. Every year, a trip is held to the Powerade Centre for special performances. The Silver Birch and Red Maple clubs are always fun to join.

“Silver Birch is a great opportunity to read new books.” Says Hibbah, a current member of Silver Birch.

I am in Grade 6.

What's your teacher's name?

My teacher is Ms. Husain.

What do you think is the best about Fletcher's other than the recess and Socials? Why?

The teachers because they help us learn and solve problems.

Who is your inspiration? Why is this person your inspiration?

My inspiration would be Mahatma Gandhi because he was an honest man and never told lies.

If you had one wish to change the world, what would it be? Why is that so?

I would wish that there would be no jealousy in the world, because jealousy causes problems.

If you could be anyone in the world, who would it be?

I would be Deepika Padukone.

What subject(s) do you think you excel at?

Math and Social Studies.

What is your favorite subject? Why?

It would be French because I had no experience with it and I like to learn it.

How do you view school as? Why do you believe so?

I view it as a place to learn because we get to learn things to help us survive out in the world.
