The Book Fair: Reading To Succeed

By: Gurkirat Chahal

The school book fair was held on September 27th, 2012. The setting of the book fair was in our school library. Fletcher’s Creek, our school is fond of fundraising, we fundraise many items to many different charities. Our most recent fundraiser for our school was the book fair. It was an amazing way to help raise money for our school considering there was no open house! We never reached our goal sadly but we did manage to get a lot of money. The group of students who helped organizing the book fair was the grade 8 book crew who assisted our librarian, Ms. Lawrence. Ms. Lawrence thought the book fair was a success because the Fletcher’s Creek community is full of wonderful readers who love different kinds of books that scholastic had to offer us. Ms. Lawrence says “Fletcher’s Reads”. It’s okay if you missed out buying a book because we will still have many more book fairs.
