Girl, Where Is
Your Confidence?

As women, we fight and struggle
daily with our confidence.
Whether it is our smile, weight,
hair, or other superficial image, we
battle (often silently) with our
confidence. “Never let another
woman’s wardrobe (naturally or
spiritually) cause you to fret”.
Often, we try to measure up with
another person’s anointing, family
life, career, car, dress, etc. Looking
through the natural eye, there will
always be someone who looks to be
“further ahead” or “better off” than
you. Do not trouble yourself with
trying to imitate someone else
when God called you to be an
original. What does the Word of
God say about this? “I will praise
thee; for I am fearfully and
wonderfully made: marvelous are
thy works; and that my soul
knoweth right well”. - Psalm 139:14
FAITH HEART MAGAZINE I 29
Confidence is “a feeling of self- assurance arising from
one's appreciation of one's own abilities or qualities.”
Many times we lack confidence because we are not sure
of who we are. We are uncertain of what we can do or
accomplish. Have you ever pursued the possibilities of
your unlocked potential? Trying to “keep up with the
Jones’s,” attempting to “get in where you can fit in”, and
“loving someone who doesn’t have the capacity to love
you back” are all similar stories that many of us share.
On this journey of seeking answers about who we are, it
is important to embrace the fact that your life has
purpose. It is seeking the face of God that reveals that
purpose. You must take hold of Philippians 1:6: “being
confident of this, that he who began a good work in you
will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ
Jesus.” You must remind yourself: “I AM A GOOD
WORK”.
The next time you are faced with an identity crisis,
failed pursuit, or lack of confidence, ask yourself, “Girl,
where is your confidence?” The next time someone
tries to put you down because of their own insecurities,
ask yourself, “Girl, where is your confidence?” The next
time the enemy lies and tells you that you don’t matter,
ask yourself, “Girl, where is your confidence?”
