living in such an environment . The show then brings someone in who can sort , help and lead the clean-up , while helping the hoarder come to terms with the process . Instead of the hoarder feeling appreciative and relieved , they are full of anxiety , fears and sometimes anger at all the people trying to help .
Jesus wants to take on this position of clean-up . He wants us to walk through the process and clean up our lives of hurt , abandonment , loss and rejection . These homes don ’ t become this way overnight , but it is over the course of many years . So it is with our lives : it takes time for God to walk us through one room at a time . He leads all the cleaning and all we need to do is face our fears in submission to Him ; allow Him into every part of our lives . He should be a part of every decision and allow the Holy Spirit to live and dwell within us giving us those nudges of what to do . He has been sent to be our Comforter , our Helper and the director of our lives .
John 14:26 “ But the Helper , the Holy Spirit , whom the Father will send in My name , He will teach you all things , and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you .”
Can you imagine a life where you are led by the Holy Spirit who will lead you in making tough decisions ? If you knew a financial billionaire guru who knew everything about investments and wanted to help you make money wouldn ’ t you trust him ? Would you gladly submit your money to him if he guaranteed in writing that you would make more money ? Of course , most people would say yes . The same is with God . He has given you a guarantee in Jeremiah 29:11 : “ For I know the plans I have for you ,” declares the Lord , “ plans to prosper you and not to harm you , plans to give you hope and a future .”
This takes the stress off of you and puts in on God where it belongs . God wants us to be submitted so we can have life and live it more abundantly . He knows where the blessings are and how to obtain them for your life .
I remember when I had moved to California and was looking for a church ; it took months as I searched and when I found the right one . I didn ’ t choose this as my church home because they played the best music , sang the most popular songs or had the latest tech options , but I heard two simple words that sealed the deal , “ you ’ re home ”. That was it . It wasn ’ t about style , people or what they could do for me . I submitted my life to Him by allowing Him to lead me where He wanted me , not where I would be most comfortable . Now that I have been there almost 10 years I can see why God led me there and how I have grown and discovered my gifts . I will always be thankful for the Holy Spirit who directed me .
If we can do the same thing with all of our decisions and submit those to Him , then He will lead us in all truth . It hasn ’ t always been easy to submit to Him when He asked me to forgive , let
go of wrong relationships or step out into uncomfortable places , but He sees further than us .

Submission is for your benefit ! As parents train their children and say no to certain things , it ’ s not because parents don ’ t want them to enjoy or take pleasure in something , but they know the possible outcome . As great tasting as sugar can be in cookies , candy and soft drinks we all know what follows … stomachaches ! So as parents are making wise decisions for their children , so is God wanting to lead us into better choices .
WHEN YOU LIVE SUBMITTED
Living a submitted life is allowing God in the driver ’ s seat , not taking turns being the driver . You will feel less stress and anxiety when you know that God is in control . You will stop making reckless decisions based on fear . In time , you will hear more clearly and be sensitive to His voice and soon develop a pattern of His heart .
