Making a differance
On November 3, 2015 I stumbled over a
blog--This life I live--and I met Joey & Rory
for the first time. Even tho I never have
had the privilege the meet them in person,
not only did they welcome me, they also
invite me to share their day to day business, to partake in both joy and sorrow,
to read about the deep love they have for
each other, their family, friends and in God,
who they fully trust.
cup of tea but Joey’s charismatic vocals
leaves no heart untouched. The songs
on this record is chosen carefully and are
some of Joey’s favorites from the time
she grew up.
The album opens up strongly with sensitive interpretations of ”Take my hand,
precious Lord”, “The old rugged cross”
and “Fly away”, these are songs that

I am gone’ make sure to keep a box of
Kleenex close at hand.
The first post I read on their blog was
’Four rings and a baby’ and to read about
Joey’s ongoing fight with cancer, how she--even tho the fight is still going on--take
hers farewell to the stepdaughters that
she holds so close to her heart, holding
my tears back is just not going to happen.
There is also pieces of pure joy, one of
those is their daughter--Indiana--a charmer who has recently turned two and as
children do, spread so much liveliness
around.
Buying this record has given me the opportunity to return some love to a couple
that personifies; 1 Corinthians 13:7 “Love
bears all things, believes all things, hopes
all things, endures all things.”
On Valentine’s day they released their
new album; “Hymns that are important to
us”, country music have never been my
I conclude this with Joey’s prayer:
“Pray for a miracle and ever more so,
for peace with His decision.”
