3. Add a little doodling and
other affirmations or Bible verses with a marker or gel pen.
4. Cut a sheet of card stock
into one half inch strip and
some 1 inch strips. These will
become stems and the text
strips on the pocket.

She lives in the ‘burbs

she spends as much time

trying to praise Jesus!

7. To create the flowers:
punch (or cut out) 2 different
size circles. I made 5 flowers
(odd numbers are always best
visually) which requires 10 circles all together.
8. Glue a small circle to each
large circle. Use glue dots to
stack and attach to buttons to
each flower.
5. On the half inch strip write
“Joy comes in the morning”,
cut into each word, and outline
each strip with a skinny marker. Glue these to the front of
the pocket. Cut the tips of the
others and outline them with
the marker.
6. Punch two holes at the top
of the pocket. Cut ribbon to 2
foot lengths. Use two different
ribbons for a bit of interest. I
used an organza and a ribbed
color. Thread through and tie
them to each side of the pocket then bring the lengths to the
top and tie together there. (I
found this helped it hang correctly.)

9. Add doodles with black
marker. I also added some
stitching and a bit of white
paint.
Arrange the flowers in the
pocket with extra strips to document more joys. Add a pen to
the pocket as well. Each day
write down a joy on a strip—either the front or the back—and
enjoy your pocket of joys!
