She even baked tasty cakes and cookies for them. Hansel and Gretel
were very happy in their new house.
Mrs. Black was a strange woman. They sometimes talked about her.
Gretel told Hansel why she didn't talk to them except only a few words.
She was always wearing black long clothes and covering her face. They
couldn't see her face fully at light. She was as if hiding something from
them. They were getting curious about this old woman. One day while
they were having lunch, Gretel couldn't stop herself and asked the old
woman;
-Why are you wearing black clothes and covering your face?
The old woman got surprised with the question but
didn't tell anything. Gretel thought she didn't hear her
question and repeated;
-Why are you covering your face with such clothes?
The old woman didn't say anything and went outside to the garden.
