HOW TO CARE FOR INDOOR SUCCULENTS

Easy STEPS TO KEEPING YOUR SUCCULENTS ALIVE

Many people feel that keeping houseplants alive requires a particular tallent, but If you have a hard time with houseplants, you should consider bringing succulents into your world. Succulents are literally made to survive warm, dry conditions, unlike many ohther plants, making them perfect for winter and summer indoors. The succulent has thick-skinned leaves that allow the plant to hold water for a longer period. If you have never cared for one before, there are a few things you should know.

Type of Container

The container you choose to plant your succulent in can be anything that has a hole for drainage at the bottom. Succulents have very short roots so they don’t need a ton of room to grow. Grab your favorite ornamental pot, bowl, or squat pot and transplant your succulent right into it. Again, the hole in the bottom is crucial because it allows the succulent to properly store water without it's roots rotting in soil that is too moist.

Lighting

Succulents LOVE light, in fact, they crave light. During the winter make sure to place your succulent near an east facing window or a window in your home that gets the most sunlight. In the spring and summer, you can let your succulent get natural light by placing it in a spot with mostly indirect light. Succulents love the light but direct sun in the hotter months can be too much for them.
