A Love That Lasts … At Work? February is the month of love… and in our case it is about those that LOVE their job. We have the following employees celebrating significant employment anniversaries in 2014. When Karen Reilly, 25 Years Strong you Happy Employment Anniversary to our Vice President of Finance! “It is difficult for me to put into a few sentences how important Karen has been to our company over all these years. Let me just say that she has earned the utmost respect from her fellow employees as well as the outside professionals that have had the pleasure to work with her (accountants, bankers, lawyers, etc.). Link and I have presented her with many challenges over the years and she has risen up on each occasion. We feel very fortunate to have her on our journey.” John Melley love your job, everyday is fun and exciting! Here are some great ways to grow the love you have for your job. 1) Work toward professional growth. 2) Look for a challenge. 3) Prioritize 4) Find value in what you do. 5) Take interest in those around you. 6) Make the workplace a fun place. Woo Hoo! 7) Remind yourself why you do what you do. “There are people who point out your mistakes. Then, there are people who show you your mistakes and take the time to help you find solutions so it does not happen again. Karen is one of these people. She doesn’t just make corrections and move on. She has a heart and likes to see people succeed. She must of started with Freedom when she was 10, since she has been here 25 years. She keeps saying she is 35 years old and I know she never fibs!!!“ Micki Andino “Karen is awesome. That’s it. I have never had a better working relationship with anyone my entire working career, and she is also my friend. And if you are ever in downtown Nashville and someone tries to steal your cab, Karen is your girl.” Cindy Matthews “It’s funny that I can send her an email at 7PM my time (10PM her time) and she will answer me in minutes! It seems as though her work laptop also acts as her right arm and is never far away! Her passion to find solutions and/or answers to the many moving parts that Freedom throws her way, is truly amazing! Karen is truly one of the smartest people I know, but she will never say as much herself! Whenever I pick up the phone to discuss an issue with her, I take the time to elevate my game as she’s not only sharp as a tack but quick too. So you have to be on your “A” game to have a conversation with her because she is always two steps ahead in the solution that we may be seeking! If there was ever an employee that you could say was the MVP of a company, she would be it! Her behind the scenes work is never up front and center. However, those of us who know her and what she does, know that she allows this company to truly go from Good to Great! She is also considered a very dear friend and for that I am most thankful!!” Lee Otto “Karen is the epitome of what a loyal and dedicated employee should be, her knowledge of her position and the “example” she sets is a trait to be desired and sought after if you want to be successful at what you do. Over the years thru both the good and tough times she’s done more with less staff than any department in the company. There’s been many changes over the years and she’s always been more than willing to assist any person or department, she really is a team player and is not only a great Ambassador for Freedom but would be for any company. She has a great sense of humor but when it comes to making Freedom the best it can be, there’s no funny business! I look forward to working with her another 25 years, after all your job really isn’t work if you enjoy it, which we both do!” Cliff Whaley 2
