enjoyed new sites with water and electric hookups . We bought a used 1999 Forest River that was easily towed behind our F-150 . It was perfect for us and our tag-along Siberian Husky . We slept on one side and him on the other . We were so excited to be off the ground and to have some semblance of better shelter . however I needed to . It also had a small propane heater , so we could now extend our season by a few more weeks . We kept our group in a perfect little compound , complete with a fire ring , tiki torches , food , and beverages all close by . Back then , our provisions were basic — hot dogs , hamburgers , chips , and beer ! Our camping weekends really were all about catching up , relaxing , and enjoying each other ’ s company .
