Efficiency of Christmas lights
As we draw closer towards Christmas, many houses will become flooded with lights over the 12 days. However, did you know that if you leave a set of standard Christmas tree lights on in your home for 10 hours a day over the 12 days of Christmas, you'll produce enough carbon dioxide to inflate 64 party balloons? Therefore, we urge you to change to your lights to a more environment friendly set of LED lights.

These alternative lights use 80% less energy and last much longer. Energy saving bulbs also use around 25% of the energy of standard light bulbs and last up 12 times longer. Furthermore, houses with both exterior and interior light displays will spend enough money to heat and power an average house for six weeks.
On a final note it was recently discovered that Brussels sprouts are now able to light up a Christmas tree which was demonstrated on London’s Southbank where an 8 foot tree decorated with around 100 LED lights were lit merely by Brussels Sprouts.
